Who is Cowgirl19114

I am Anastasia and I have lived in the city for all of my life but have had a lifelong love affair with horses, livestock, and rodeos. My story is pretty simple, I grew up going to rodeos and racetracks as a little girl with my mom, grandmother and great aunts.  As I got older the ways of the city took hold. I fell in love with politics very early on and wanted to be a US Senator when I grew up. I went to Swarthmore College and Temple University and earned a BA in Political Science. I also worked for a Fortune 10 company. I applied to both law school and business school. I opted to get my MBA instead of my JD. Politics just did not seem to fit my personality.

Fast forward and I fell back in love with rodeo. I was writing a blog on my musings about life, dating, and coffee at the time. I didn’t think anyone would be interested in rodeo. I found a few like-minded folks on Twitter, imagine that, and realized after being asked a million times at various rodeos “do they have horses in Philadelphia” that it was my duty to educate the world on the Western Lifestyle from the prospective of a Northerner. And my blog Cowgirl19114.com was born along with my tag line ‘Yes We Rodeo Big In The North’.

I go to rodeos and stock shows all over the country. I have made friends all over the world who love anything about the sport of rodeo. My Twitter followers always know they can get my perspective about athletes, organizations, and media coverage. A couple of years ago I was invited to be a contributing writer to Black Reins Magazine. I look forward to writing more comprehensive articles about the Western Lifestyle as well as the Equestrian world.

When I am not out chasing the rodeo trail I live in NE Philadelphia with my teenage son and mother and work as a Manager outside the house. My son is my trail buddy and can be seen at local rodeos. He wants to be a bull rider but I would prefer he rope. The jury is still out. I have a collection of cowboy boots to rival the best of collectors. I am rarely seen in anything but my boots. I am single but on the lookout for my cowboy. You never know when he might rope ya.
